Studio Policies

For G.V.S. Membership Plans and Studio Sampler Trial Plans

  

Tuition and Payment:

  • Payment Methods: We accept cash, checks, or credit card payments. Credit card payments are processed through Stripe. If you're paying via an installment plan, set up monthly autopay through your MyMusicStaff student account.  Please make checks payable to Gori Voice Studios, LLC.
  • Payment Terms and Schedule:
    • Membership Plans may be prepaid in full or through equal installments billed monthly. The prepayment or first installment is due on or before the first one-to-one lesson. Subsequent installments are due on the 1st of each calendar month until full payment is completed.
    • Late Payments (received after the 7th day past the due date) are subject to a $20 late fee.
    • Missed Payments: If no payment is received by the 15th day after the due date, no further lessons will be given until the balance due is paid. We reserve the right to reassign the student’s time slot.
    • Refunds: We do not issue refunds.

Family Discounts:

  • If more than one family member wishes to enroll in their own Membership Plan, we offer a 10% discount for families with more than one enrolled student.
  • Full tuition is due for the first family member enrolled, but tuition for subsequent family members is discounted 10% for that academic year.
  • Two family members may share a single Full Membership for an additional fee of $50 for a Six-month Membership and $100 for a Twelve-month Membership.

Studio Communications:

  • Our primary mode of communication for studio news, updates, and events is through email. Please ensure that these studio email addresses are on your “safe sender” list or “whitelist”:

  • Lesson and Studio Event Reminders:  Our MyMusicStaff system generates reminders 72 hours in advance of lessons and most events. These reminders will be sent to your email address and cell phone on file. To manage reminders, use your MyMusicStaff student portal.

Contacting the Studio:

  • For questions or concerns, contact us by phone at 301-946-6530 or email the addresses above. We’ll reply within 24 hours (please note the studio phone cannot receive text messages).

Studio Schedule and Time Considerations:

  • Studio Closure Dates are set before the beginning of each academic year. Please refer to our current Academic Year calendar(s).
  • Closures due to Inclement Weather: The studio will remain open during inclement weather as long as we have electricity and internet. In poor driving conditions, students may request online lessons. If the studio must fully close, notifications will be sent via telephone or text message.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policies:

  • You are welcome to cancel and reschedule as many lessons as you wish subject to the following terms and conditions:
    • All cancellations and rescheduling must be done through your MyMusicStaff student portal. Please do not email us directly; MMS will send us a notification.
    • Lessons must be canceled 48 hours or more in advance to be eligible for rescheduling. When you cancel a lesson through your MMS student portal,       MMS will generate a “make-up credit”. You can use this “make-up credit” to book an alternate time.
    • “Make-up”  lessons are not guaranteed; it is your responsibility to book the credit before the expiration date of your study plan.
    • You may use the “make-up credit” to reschedule into any open time slot, whether opened by another student’s cancellation or on one of our prescheduled Flex Days.
  • Late Cancellations (e.g., less than 48 hours’ notice):
    • If you must cancel a lesson with less than 48 hours’ notice, you have the following options:
      • Request an Online Lesson during your regular time. If you’re unable to sing due to illness, we can focus on:
        • Music theory
        • Dramatic presentation
        • Character development
        • Languages
      • Request an Asynchronous Lesson, which may include:
        • A personalized video or audio practice recording
        • A prepared listening list of researched repertoire options
        • Written or recorded feedback on your practice or performance recordings.

Sickness Policy:

  • Please do not come to an In-Person Lesson if you or a household member show symptoms of communicable illness (e.g., fever, body aches, cough, sore throat) unrelated to allergies or non-contagious conditions. If you need to cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, you can request an Online Lesson or one of the Asynchronous options up to 2 hours before your scheduled lesson.

Teacher Cancellation:

  • If your regular teacher is unavailable, our other teacher will serve as your substitute during your regular lesson time. If neither teacher is available, you can choose to reschedule the lesson or use one of the Asynchronous Lesson options listed above.

Permanent Rescheduling:

  • While we support your participation in sports and performing arts outside of the studio, we ask that you honor your commitment to your individual vocal studies. When auditioning for shows, please list your lesson time as a conflict during auditions. Continuing vocal studies best supports your production. f needed, we can speak to your show’s director.
